From the outside this appears to be just another roadside dive bar, but this little place is a gem. The menu is very impressive. The wine list scales large, and the beer selection is pretty good too. The outside views from the tables in the back are beautiful. The food is delicious and imaginative. The staff is friendly and the place has quite the rustic charm.

My husband and I just celebrated our 9th anniversary (and both of our birthdays...they all fall in the same week) with a truly beautiful dinner at Up the Creek. We had never been here before so I stopped in mid-day last week to make reservations (pro-tip: reservations recommended/required). The hostess was gracious and let me wander around to check the place out. It is really lovely; a great mix of rustic and elegant. Most tables have a lovely view of the creek, but I really fell for one of them and she was happy to note my preference when she took the reservation. When we got there tonight the place was PACKED, but our table was immediately ready for us...a quiet two-top with a perfect window-view of the creek and two hummingbird feeders hanging up outside. We got there quite a bit before sunset and loved watching multiple species of hummingbirds enjoy the free meal--literary--1-2 feet from our faces while we enjoyed a before dinner drink. Behind them was a gorgeous riparian area with the flowing creek, ducks, starling, red-winged black birds, and a great blue heron! Now for food: appetizers: the duck liver paté and grilled artichoke were perfect compliments to each other (sorry I didn't get a picture!) and even my husband (who generally avoids paté) raved about it! For entrées: he had the Louisiana Gumbo and I had the Roasted Lamb Loin. He was in AWE of his gumbo (I could really only taste the sauce--shellfish allergy--but it was amazing! ) The lamb loin was perfectly cooked and the presentation was beautiful. If I ordered it again, I would ask for the mint chimichurri on the side (I love the flavor of lamb and this was beautiful lamb, but it's flavor was mild enough that I found that much chimichurri to be distracting). I also would have liked twice as much of the parsnip/carrot mash, as it is one of my favorite things--and the reason I chose this dish over the duck breast, Roasted quail, or elk rack. I mean--really--when your four favorite meats are on the menu, it's the little things that make your choice! We chose (from a menu of 400+ bottles) a bottle of Stag's Leap Petit Sirah to accompany our meal and it was Stellar. Finally, for dessert we he a slice of the buttermilk pie (amazing!) and the pistachio Crème brulée (even better!). On the way out, we met one of the owners, Jim. He was so gracious and welcoming! We just wanted to sit and hear him talk about wine all night! This was out first time here, but as locals, we know that we will be back again and again.

Went with my girlfriend overall we had a wonderful time atmosphere is amazing. Their dining area overlooks the creek I highly recommend getting their during the day to enjoy the views. Only complaint would be the fettuccine was not the greatest and a bit bland. My girlfriend is vegetarian so there were not a lot of options for her, but we still had a great time.

Delicious food served in a dining room with huge picture windows overlooking a quiet bend in Oak Creek. A riot of bird life (humming birds, ducks, black birds, doves) accompanied amazing food, perfectly plated. Candace (our server) was able to make excellent recommendations for wine pairings to go with various dishes.

Either we choose the wrong food to eat or this place needs some help. $20 fish sticks were horrible, the slaw was grey in color and really lacked a centralized flavor. Must of been last night's slaw. Either way it was very sad food experience. The setting and views are nice but not worth the lack luster food. Oh the veggie burger was a lump of mussy beans. They tried way too hard. Really don't waste your time on an old hang out that been road hard and put away wet! ONE AND DONE

To start with, we made reservations for our anniversary, and they promised us a window seat. And they did, but the room which was downstairs was filthy with spiders and webs in all the corners of the windows. The windows were also filthy. The bar area, which looked to be non functioning, had junk piled on it and behind it. After placing our order, the server appeared with our order, placed it down, and said enjoy. We had to go get our own Forks and Napkins. When the food came, it was not much for the price, barely enough to be called a meal. The knife, which was provided to cut the porkchop, couldn't scrape paint off a wall. It was dull. I asked the server for a serated knife, and she said we alway use these knives, I guess, because they are pretty. The porkchop was very tough and dried out. The porkchop came with 3 green beans, a few pcs of grilled red onion, and peppers. The baked potatoe was dry and came with nothing, no sour cream, no butter, nothing, it wasn't even cut down the middle. The server asked if I wanted butter. My husband ordered the salmon, which was mediocre, to say the least. This lousey meal, with no drinks, other than a coffee, was $103.00. And we both left hungry and disgusted!! This place needs a good cleaning and a chef.

Wine and buttermilk pie in a wood cabin overlooking the creek as hummingbirds flitter nearby...it's dreamy. It's a very laid-back Cornville restaurant just north of the row of local vineyards. It also sits atop the hill overlooking the cute Page Springs RV resort. Hummingbird feeders hang outside every window so you can watch them visit as you eat. The wine list is extensive and boasts many of the local wineries along with our of state ones. For lunch we enjoyed burgers (Sedona and Reuben) and sandwiches (grilled chicken and BLT) as the kids had perfectly crisped chicken tenders. The baked brie with mushrooms and balsamic was delicious, but the buttermilk pie is what thrilled us all!

I went here with a friend for Sunday lunch. We made reservations and we're glad we did as it filled up shortly after we got there. While this place has spectacular views of Oak Creek and the various wildlife, I felt I was out of place with …
